Recommended ISAs

Hi All,

Could anyone recommend a Cash Isa and a Shares Isa please?

Got £10k to invest and I want to fill my Isa quote then look for savings Bonds for the rest.

cheers

There is no "best" shares ISA, it depends on what and how you want to invest, your attitude to risk, whether you're going to invest in UTs/OEICs or Investments trusts or direct shares etc. There's a long thread discussing it HERE. If you use funds then buy through a discount broker to save on fees, article HERE.

Likewise, but less complicated with cash ISA. Do you want a fixed or floating rate and how do you want to access it? Best Buy article HERE.

    HTH.

sounds way too complicated for me...think I go for a cash Isa and a fixed rate savings bond.

bytheway if a bond offers say 6.85% gross..how much would it be net?

    cheers

5.48% net of 20% tax deducted by the bank at source, if you're a higher rate tax payer you should declare the interest and pay a further 20% to HMRC bringing the effective rate down to 4.11%.

Or get an IFA to do it for you. If you cant do it yourself then use someone that can.
