UK Savings Account with overseas address

I wish to open a UK savings account but I do not have a UK residential address. I am looking at the high end interest rates - 6% to 6.5%. Do you know of any banks or building societies that will allow me to do this. All the online operations I have looked at require UK residence. My existing UK bank offers a maximum of 4.375%.

Not possible to get a UK account without a UK address.

What you can do is have a look at offshore (Jersey & IOM) accounts. A&L IOM & B&B offer competitive rates.

If you live in the EU, then you will fall under the EU savings directive.

I can confirm that you can open some types of high-interest accounts at UK banks and building societies from abroad. However certain types of account are only available to UK residents.

Make sure you apply to the bank for gross payment of interest using the appropriate tax form.
