very sensitive alarm on BMW

  • bmw alarms are a pain in the !!!! a neighbours goes off at least once every 3 nights

    i asked him not to alarm it until its fixed but hes a prat and prefers to wake about 80 people up

    Its probably an ultrasonic sensor turn them off and see if it still plays up

    Certainly for BMW's built in the last few years it's a case of lock the doors and the alarm is on whether you want it or not.
    He needs to get it fixed or adjusted.
    Don't get me started on our neighbours house alarm....

    Bought a BMW last Friday, and have had issues with false security alarms.

    I mentioned the problem to a friend who works with Porsches and Saabs and drives a Seat. The first thing he asked me was did i have change sitting in the centre console .. i answered yes. He said, remove the change and let me know what happens.

    I havent had a false alarm since i removed the coinage and unplugged the sat nav charger while the car isnt in use.

    Regardless of trying the method of disabling the proximity sensor i was getting alarms 2 or 3 times a day previously.

    Give it a try.
