My wife is a non-uk/non-EU citizen and she is not working at the moment. She is currently on a settlement visa and will have leave to remain by December and will (fingers-crossed) be a British citizen by Dec 09.
I'm a 40% tax payer so I was thinking about using her tax-free allowance in addition to mine. She already has a current account and a simple saver account (1.2%) with RBS. Is she entitled to an ISA given that she is non-EU? Is she allowed to open a high interest account (she doesn't have a national insurance number yet)?
Are there any specific savings accounts for people in her situation?
Thanks
