Hi... help anyone.....?
I've recently signed up (over the phone) with talktalk 3 anytime plan for £35.49 per month to include:
- free calls to uk landlines 7 days a week
- free broadband (am I really going to get it free?)
- free international calls (but don't make any)
- line rental
This plus a one-off connection fee of £29.99.
I've just been on their website (one I always get mad with) and the packages look a damn sight cheaper than what I've been quoted over the phone. Have I been 'had' as I've done it over the phone? And could someone please tell me if I've gone for the right package. I'm a stay at home mum of 2, and will make UK national calls day and evening, weekdays and weekends and need the broadband. I won't make any international calls but the sales rep says it is still the best package. And am I actually going to get free broadband when the rep said I definitely would????
I'm especially hacked off as I got transferred from talktalk last year to another phone provider without my consent which now means I have to re-sign-up with talktalk. Grrrrr
Thanks in advance, Katja

Are you really going to get it free?
Well not really, look at your 2nd sentence, it has £35.49 per month in it.
You are paying £34.49 for you service which includes the items you mention.
Companies like to call things free as they think it looks better than inclusive.
You're not really get free calls, because you are paying £35.49 each month,It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
BT line rental £10.50/month;
BT Unlimited Anytime Calls Plan - £5.95/month;
BT Total Broadband Option 1 - £17.99/month
Total cost £34.44Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
You've been quoted a very strange price. If you look on www.talktalk.co.uk you can see a package for £20.49 p/m which offers what you describe - free national and international calls 24/7, broadband and phone line rental...
In addition to that there is a special offer on at the moment which is either half price for 3 months or no activation fee + if you go through Quidco you get £42 cashback...0 -
Is there a cooling off period, if so cancel and re-apply online.0
