Their - possessive pronoun (owned by them e.g. "They locked their car").
They're - colloquial/abbreviated version of 'They are'
There - noun (location other than here e.g. "You can buy groceries there") OR adverb (in or at that place e.g. "They have lived there for years") OR adverb (to or towards that place e.g. "Go there at noon") OR adverb (in that matter e.g. " I agree with you there").0 -
Bought a phone from tesco with caller display window for £8.95, logs calls etc and being a plug in phone also, its good for when there is a power cut and my walkabout phone then fails.0

thanks - but those particular models only display the last call received which I can get from dialing 1471!0 -
How about THIS then?Their - possessive pronoun (owned by them e.g. "They locked their car").

No, mine does the same.
I think it just 'listens' for the tell-tale interrupted dial tone which indicates a line with 1571 enabled has a new message waiting.
Only takes a second or two.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
I was of the opinion that although bt provides my line, the fact that between them talktalk & 1899 provides my calls, I couldn't have a caller display phone. Have I got that wrong? I too would like to be able to see who is calling before I "pick-up".This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Hi islandman, you can have caller display on your phone, provided your phone has the screen to show it or you buy a unit as is being discussed

Your incoming calls are via BT so, as you pay BT for line rental, you can get Caller Display for nothing (call 0800 916 55 44 and press the appropriate buttons at the appropriate times).islandman wrote:I was of the opinion that although bt provides my line, the fact that between them talktalk & 1899 provides my calls, I couldn't have a caller display phone. You don't even have to speak to anyone.Their - possessive pronoun (owned by them e.g. "They locked their car").
