BUSINESS Savings Account

Hi

I've been tasked to find a high interest home for around £200,000 surplus which we hold in trust for one of our clients. We need to have reasonably easy access to call on it at times of need, but can't go with for instance ING Direct because they only handle Individuals funds and this would in essence be a business account.

I'm not sure how to go about hunting down a good rate for this type of account and wondered if anyone had any recommendations? An online account would suit us best I think because the linked Current Account will continue to be held at NatWest.

I look forward to hearing from anyone who can advise!

Check out Investec and Cater Allen.
Investec Direct Reserve is 4.89% and I think gives one instant withdrawal per year without loss of interest. Other than that is 1 mth notice or loss of intrest. The current a/c is 2.25%. They have good customer service.
Cater Allen is good for term accounts
    4.88% 1 week to 5.81% 3 mth.
  • Halifax through our parent company Bank of Scotland currently offer till 30th June a savings acc specifically for Business Customers. The 'Total Business Account' offers 5.38% AER. Guaranteed to be 0.25% above base for 12 months. Can be operated online or telephone with Instant access and open from £1, no other catches! Pop into any Halifax branch if you would like further info or to apply!
I work for Halifax (a division of Bank of Scotland plc, owned by HBOS plc, owned by Lloyds Banking Group plc). Any comments or views are my personal comments and opinions and not those of my employer. Oh and I might (on the odd occasion) get something wrong, if I do then I do apologise in advance!!
