  • Hello, my wife has just found out that her bank has mistakenly had her account "bad debted" and placed into the in house "collections"dept for the last six years! This has had an adverse effect on her credit rating and the bank have written to her admitting the error and offered her £250 in compensation.I think a sum of £2000 would be more appropriate. your views would be greatly appreciated

Without knowing your full circumstances I would take the offer of £250 whilst it is available. You can push for more, but you may end up getting none without legal proceedings and proof of why you deserve the extra (for example, has she had bailiffs knocking on the door?)
  • I drop a cheque on one of Llyods TSB branch on the Friday, 24th August 2012 at approx 13:30 . I was assured that the cheque will be deposited into my account same day. And, there is no difference between depositing the cheque via counter and quick deposit box.

I called numerous time on saturday,(sunday & Monday Holiday), Tuesday , Wednesday (about 10 times) there was no proper response except they say that they will look into it. Every time i made a call, i told them that i need the money by week ending 31 August 2012.

Nobody responded to me, but on wednesday later on they gave me branch number , after numerous calls they say that cheque was left in the envelope my mistake and will be banked on wednesday (29th August 2012) and will clear after 3rd Sept 2012.

I have many DD and commitment to pay by the end of August 2012. And they are not offering any help.

I have no money left on account, i am out of pocket for a week.
Arent they suppose to help for their mistake by allowing to withdraw the amount by this week??

    Any Suggestions??

The poster you are responding to has simply copied Werndal's OP from 2008 so I'm guessing it is a would-be spammer.

Why can't people start a new thread for their issues.....

    Instead of hijacking another one.

This thread is so out of control its simply not worth replying to any single post...

I think in these circumstances approximations are not good enough. The exact figure is £4.7133333 recurring.
