Signature complications natwest

Hi
I am transfering my 07/08 isa from Natwest to Alliance and leicester. I recieved a letter from natwest today saying that the request from A&L could not go through as my signature differs from the one on file and I had to fill in another set of forms for them!!!!!!!
1. I have had the same signature for 15 years now
2. Why couldn't they veryify my details by calling me (as they seem to do every week to sell me something)
3. I sign my name at least 30 per day
Do you think this is a delaying tactic by Natwest to either keep my money a bit longer/dishearten me into pulling the transaction?
Has anyone else had this experience?. I've been with Natwest since the age of 18 (I'm 33 now) and this has narked me off so much I'll probably leave them altogether
cheers wooders

Damn Natwest for checking your signature and refusing it when it didnt match.Do you think this is a delaying tactic by Natwest to either keep my money a bit longer/dishearten me into pulling the transaction?
Yeah. I am sure the clerk involved in transfers has targets to reject transfer applications despite the fact that the cost of re-work involved is higher than processing it without errors.I've been with Natwest since the age of 18 (I'm 33 now) and this has narked me off so much I'll probably leave them altogether
I bet you would be even more narked off if they had transferred it on a forged signature.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
Very stroppy reply Dunston!!
What I was asking, was basically, if this were a common tactic / practice??
There is defo a quicker, easier, cheaper, better for the environment way to verify my details. For one, I have a pin protected telephone access account where I can transfer what I want, when I want--- immediately. Why, just cos A&L have requested the transfer do they go back to sending costly letters? that take so much time etc
still narked
