Car stereo unlocking

Hi. I decided to charge my daughter's car battery and then discovered it was a key coded stereo and we don't have the code.

Have got various numbers from the unit, not sure which ones are relevant:

GM 0201S1753988
9022 214 60758 03
003 9525 1753988
90 381 124
N.6/00746/15377/A

If anyone knows how I can get the code, I'd be very grateful.

Thanks!

    Hi Parky,

Check out the sticky thread about car radio unlocking in the Motoring Forum.

    There's also this thread:

The numbers you have given won't have the code on. The code for Vauxhalls are printed on a little credit card sized card along with lots of other info such as the key numbers and master ecu codes.

You will be able to obtain an unlock code from Vauxhall for a charge with the numbers you have given.

    Couple of tips for the future;

Don't buy cheap ebay coding CDs, they never seem to work on VXs

Also always disable the code, if you have it that is, before you disconnect the battery. Most if not all systems allow this.

It is also possible to connect a spare 12v battery accross the auxilliary circuit to keep the radio supply intact while the battery is swapped. Does have to be powerful enough to start the car, I've used burglar alarm batteries for this in the past.:money:
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed
