is there a connection charge???? I'm wondering whether to sign up to these companies who offer free evening & weekend calls, however, if there is a connection charge(per call), I mayaswell stay with 18866/18990

I've just signed up to PlanetTalks Primus Saver Option 2.
There is a free limit of 90 minutes but I don't make that many calls. Daytime local and national rate is 2p a minute. It's carrier preselect so you don't have to type in any other numbers before the number you want to call.
Tiscali are offering unlimited 1mb broadband and free calls for £19.99 which also seems a good offer.0 -
A couple of questions please.
1) Can you cancel your subscription easily with CPS services if they change their pricing structure or terms & conditions or even if they don't ?
2) Will BT caller display work fine when your calls are routed through CPS and when you receive calls on the original BT line ?
3) When dialling through a third party (e.g. 1899) will you need to first deactivate CPS by 1280 (to go back to BT) and then dial 1899 or not.
4) Related to the prevous question. Will you need to change any of the settings on your Orchid dialler apart from cancelling the routing of 01/02 numbers through another carrier (other than BT) during evenings and weekends ?
Thanks a million to all MSEs. :money:Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????0 -
Yes, you are not on any minimum term contract but it generally takes about 2 weeks to transfer to an alternative CPS provider which should give you plenty of time as a lot of companies generally provide 1 month notice to any change in t&c or their pricing structure.Aiadi wrote:1) Can you cancel your subscription easily with CPS services if they change their pricing structure or terms & conditions or even if they don't ?
So long as you just the CPS company for calls and not pay them linerental then all BT features work as normal including caller display because all incoming calls are still handled by BT it's just that outgoing calls are handled by your CPS provider.2) Will BT caller display work fine when your calls are routed through CPS and when you receive calls on the original BT line ?
No. Just dial 1899 before your required number and it will automatically route via Call1899 regardless of what CPS company you use assuming you still continue to pay linerental to BT.3) When dialling through a third party (e.g. 1899) will you need to first deactivate CPS by 1280 (to go back to BT) and then dial 1899 or not
If all you are doing is using another provider for calls (via CPS) instead of BT then you don't even need to change the Orchid dialler. The reason is because BT automatically route your outgoing calls to your chosen CPS company and because this is done automatically then nothing needs changing on the Orchid dialler unless you still want to route calls through BT in which case set the carrier as, "1280 - BT override" or something along those lines and it will then route that certain type of call via BT's network.4) Related to the prevous question.
