Argos 6 Day Sale

On wed 30th april argos started its 6 day bank holiday sale,i had a leaflet and noticed there was a half price nevada 8 person tent(home delivery only),tried website but it was down apparentely,& it was down most tuesday and wed that week,anyway it was up and running on thursday(2nd day of super sale!!)and guess what the tent was out of stock,tried local store who checked argos direct stock , but out of stock i asked when they expected more stock and was told probably by end of may,this was no good as it would be full price on tuesday 6th may,i rang argos cs and they said no more stock deliveries was showing and said it may be weeks before any more of the nevada tents are in stock,checked website today tuesday 6th may and guess what the nevada tent is in stock and can be delivered within 2 days but its now full price(extra £80)amazing how quickly argos can supply things once prices have increased!!!!!:mad:

What should Argos do, have an unlimited supply of anything that's on special offer?

C'est la vie! Brochures etc. have to be prepared weeks/months in advance of the sale. Maybe a supplier agreed some sort of deal but ultimately could not deliver or stocks that they had and were intending to use for the sale got exhausted before the sale started.

I have lost track of how many times I have seen something advertised on offer only to find it is sold out ... it happens, some lucky people got there before me, on other occasions I got there before them.

I don't the issue is it being out of stock, but the fact they told him/her it won't be back in untill the end of May. Then the day the offer finishes they get more stock.

The only thing i can think of is they had a limit to how many to see per store and in the warehouse and once these have been sold thats it for the offer price.

But you do need to be quick with these things

Unfortunately this is life, the sooner we realise this the better. No point in getting worked up about things, lifes too short. Buy elsewhere, there is plenty of other retailers.
