in Credit cards
Hello,
I've been using annualcreditreport.co.uk monthly to keep up to date with what I've got on there and so far everything is in the green except for a credit history which == 0!
I've been on an international student account since I started university in 2004 and I've had a Mastercard with them a year into the course and I have been actively using that all this time paying either the full amount back and lately only what I can afford but always covering the minimum payment.
I was wondering if anyone else has had experience with student credit cards and it not showing on the credit report.
I've written off for Equifax's report and I shall see if it shows on there.
I've now got a Capital One classic card to get some credit history.
To be honest, all I wanted from HSBC was an ISA, but because of my account type I wasn't allowed one and when they tried to sign me up for a current account I was declined. I asked the lady (who was exceptionally cold in the first place) why my mastercard does not show on the credit report, she said it's because I've always paid on time? Is this right?
:money:
Any advice would be great!

Also, does anyone know that because I have this international student account, it could affect my credit scoring in any way?0

Not all credit card companies report GOOD behaviour to the agencies. A catch 22 situation to be sure but sometimes an unfortunate reality.
I'd recommend you get your report from Experian too as this is the one the majority of credit card companies will use for their checks.Best Regards,

You will find that annualcreditreport.co.uk don't report on your account status from Experian - in fact they miss a lot of essential information. Experian are the biggest and most widely used CRA.
I seem to remember that they take all their information from Call Credit which is the smallest and least used CRA.
I would recommend getting all your credit files individually from each CRA either by post of by taking advantage of their online trials (if you haven't done so in the past).
Don't rely on information from annualcreditreport.co.uk alone as you are no where near getting the full picture.
Regards
