Can anyone please help explain why I'm charged £1.48 every month, is this for Caller Id, if so many moons ago Through MSE I changed for caller preference or whatever they call it now and got this service free.
Is there anything i can now do to remove this strange One-off charge, which is every month £1.48, How can it be a one off payment ?
Thanks in advance for your help

£1.48 * 1.175 = £1.74.
This is the charge for Call Display.
If you have 'Free' Caller Display you need to make two calls via BT either charged for or inclusive, otherwise you get charged the going rate for Caller Display. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -

Thanks for your help I'm currently with Sky for phone calls, would now make sense to change over to Bt, then save the cost of Sky Free Weekend & evening calls.

You can dial 1280 in front of a couple of calls to place those calls back over BT.
Sky don't charge for evening and weekend calls package.
Though money savers usually go for Primus Saver 2, with Penny Mobile and then place a couple of calls with BT - Leaving line rental with BT and not making the mistake of moving it away. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... If you CPS your calls via Sky Talk Freetime, that gets you free evening and weekend UK 01/02/03 calls of up to 60 minutes.Weymouth_Man wrote: »Thanks for your help I'm currently with Sky for phone calls, would now make sense to change over to Bt, then save the cost of Sky Free Weekend & evening calls.
However, you must also be on BT's Unlimited Weekend Plan (your line rental package) - so get free weekend calls via them too!
The simple solution is to put a 1280 prefix in front of your weekend UK 01/02/03 calls so they go via BT and are the 'qualifying calls' for free Caller Display.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
