Refund/Returns Problem!

Oookay, here goes -

I sold a t-shirt on Ebay to a dude from Canada. At the time when I was selling it, I put that postage was to UK only and Paypal only - he obv wasnt from the UK and he didnt have paypal, but he offered me £6 and his profile was on private! So I didnt know he was Canadian/didnt have Paypal.

So I accepted it without knowing, and he emailed with a "by the way Im from Canada and I dont have Paypal" story. Great. He ended up sending me £10 and I kept the money for the t-shirt and spent the rest on P&P and posted the t-shirt and his £1 change in an envelope.

A week or two later, he emails me saying the t-shirt is "smooth on one side and rough on the other.. and it smells like detergent" (this is because I was polite enough to wash it!!) and he wants a refund straight away. So I tell him to just sent the damn thing back and Ill send him the money. So now its been sent and I still havent got it, its been about 14 working days from Canada and he keeps messaging me asking me "whats going on??", as if I know!

Im determined Im not sending him the money until I get it back, for all I know he could have it at his house, but he keeps saying "I need my refund!!!!" messages and "Dont make me leave you neg feedback.." and its stressing me out big time, I just want the damn t-shirt back now and after Ive sent the money off he's blocked for life!

In all, I dont know what to do, apart from wait around for the package! Anyone got any suggestions? Do you think it might be held up in Customs?

Ask him for proof of postage if he hasn't got it then you can't return his money until the t-shirt is in your hands as you are unsure he is returning the item. If he wanted to return it then should should have used a recorded method so he can prove he sent it and therefore claim for lost postage as you haven't received it yet.

Find out what mail service he used to return it. Surface mail from Canada can take 4-6weeks to arrive in the UK.

Also ask for the tracking code and see where the item is here:

Unless he has proof os postage his up the swanny, especially if it can't be tracked.

He sounds like an ungrateful waste of space to me; at the moment the balls in his court and until he manages to hit one over the net, let him fester.

Also, as has been mentioned surface mail is about as efficiant as gordon browns electioneering.

Thanks everyone! Ive sent a message asking if he has a tracking code for it, and I keep saying it could take a few weeks! I think it took around 2/3 to get there from here, but he seems to think I'm swindling him well and truly. Oh well, gotta just wait I spose!
