Halifax Home Insurance - broken laptop - what will I need to send them?

Will I need to send them a receipt for my broken laptop? Every time I've asked one of their customer advisors they've not given me a straight answer as I have to wait to speak to a proper claims person...so I was just wondering if I need to start digging out the receipt? Also what are they like fixing/replacing goods in terms of days/weeks etc? I really don't know what to expect.

I have found their customer services very hard work to deal with. Its bad enough getting hold of them but I've now spoken to 4 people and I have to wait a few days now to actually discuss my case. I'd rather talk to a call centre in Bangalore than these clowns!
