Advice selling DVDs on Ebay

Hi everyone.
I have sold the odd thing on Ebay but never a large amount of things before so need some advice. We have a lot of DVDs that are just cluttering up the place so thought we should get shot off them. Things like Series 1-4 of 24, Series 1-4 of Spooks, Godfather Trilogy etc..and a lot of other films. Also some cds and books but mainly DVDs.. I know we won't get a lot for them but rather some money than they just sit on our shelves.
What is the best way to market a DVD? Shall I advertise for example, Series 1-4 together or sell them separately, haven't worked out if the p&p would be cheaper one way or the other yet. Best to leave it to auction or a Buy It Now price?
Any advice muchly appreciated.

Must admit, had not thought of Amazon, didn't know which site was better tbh. I'll look into that as well.

I second Amazon. I've never tried either for selling DVDs but I've sold lots of CDs on Amazon and you definitely get a better price there than ebay. So it's worth a look.:www: :: MFi3 ::

If you have any boxsets or collections, sell them together. Nobody buys the individual American Pie films, but all 3 or 4 together, and they sell for £12-£14.
If the films are "big name blockbuster" films, they are only likely to sell for £2 or £3 + postage, and at that price range ebay is cheaper to sell on than Amazon, unless you are planning on selling a large number and could qualify for a professional status on Amazon. It is worth doing a price check on Amazon before listing on eBay - there are a few popular DVD's that have been deleted that tend to fetch good money, - Jean Claude Van Damme's AWOL springs to mind, anything Teletubbies related goes for silly money, and the genuine Disney DVD's tend to fetch around £10 each.
P&P for DVD's on eBay can be added at £2 per disc, and will still pull in DSR ratings of 4.8-4.9 - the majority of DVD's are just over 100g when in a jiffy bag, bit bubble wrap and plastic mailers bring them under the 100g mark, and will go for the 52p large letter rate.
Finally, if you have a load of non-selling DVD's at the end of them, list them as one "bulk collection job lot" and would-be DVD resellers will snap them up at around £1.50- £2 each!!!<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
Look into selling them on Play as well, they cost nothing to list and they charge a fixed fee of 50P plus 10% of selling price. I have listed loads recently and have probably already sold just over half of them

I third Amazon - i always list on there first if it's a decent price and then put them on ebay if they don't sell on Amazon..Lightbulb Moment - March 2004
