hi there
i live literally 5 min drive from birmingham airport and the nec, to bring in a little extra cash i wondered if i could rent a space on my drive?, and if so how i would go about doing this?
i thought this would a good idea as i know it can cost a fortune at airport parking

There is a site somewhere on here that lets you do that, can't remember the name offhand, however remember that you will need to take out public liability insurance, and that any income you make will be taxable.Gone ... or have I?0

also, you probably wouldn't offer the all important transfer shuttle, which many people think is a necessity when parking off airport!0

www.parkatmyhouse.com might be a good place to start .On the internet you can be anything you want. It`s strange so many people choose to be rude and stupid.0

i would be prepared to drop people to the airport if the flight times were resonable. would i really need liability insurance??? what for??0

liability insurance for..
1) injury if they tripped and fell on your driveway
2) injury or death if they were killed in an accident in your car while you are dropping them off at the airport..
these are just 2 possibilities... i'm sure there are many more0 -

What would you class as reasonable flight times, and what happens if a flight is delayed? A 7pm arrival could end up as a 3am arrival (assuming night flights are allowed at BHX?) and you would still be liable to collect the passengers. Also remember that there may be four or five people in the car, plus luggage - would your own car be able to carry them comfortably?
Yes, you would definitely need liability insurance, for any damage to the car whilst it was in your care, and for any possible injury to the service users whilst on your land. You would also need to change your car insurance to cover you for business use.
Sorry to be so negative, but it seems that this is being advocated as an easy moneymaking idea. It could be very simple, but if you do encounter problems, remember that you would be liable as the owner of the 'business' x

Considering you can park off airport for as little as £20 pw in secure car park with 24hr shuttle etc, to compete you would need to charge something like only £2 odds per day. Is it really worth the hassle ?
If you need extra cash, get a 2nd job in MacDonalds at night or the local chippy, the pays better.0 -
also if your drive way was being used for business use you may need planning permission. i cant imagine your neighbours being supportive.0
