At home I have Orange Broadband for my main PC and also 2 laptops for my daughters. All these computers run Windows XP and the laptops have wireless adaptors which came with them.
Now, my problem is that I have purchased a laptop which runs Windows Vista and a dongle from Vodaphone so that I can use my laptop whenever I am away from home and although it works fine in an area which gets a good Vodaphone signal, at home the signal is less and so the computer is running very slow.
The laptop is an Advent 5301 which has 2GB memory and 120 GB hard disk and Wireless LAN b/g.
Trying my daughters wireless adaptor into mine didn't work as the software was already installed in her computer and so we have no disk for it.
I hope that some one will be able to help me out of a pickle.

You can manually add another wifi router (connection) via windows utility. However as I'm not using vista hopefully someone will tell you were it is in Vista.0

from the description of your laptop it is unlikely it does not have a wifi adapter already built in
this may be switched off so check your manual some laptops are simply a button on the outside of the case, some require pressing a "hotkey" and navigation of a menu system.
Once activated that should detect your wireless network and request a "passkey"click here to achieve nothing!0 -
Thanks very much for the prompt replies. I do have an internal wireless adaptor and after a phone call to the techie guys via PC World, I enabled it by using the Fn and F10 keys. All well now.Jasmine0
