hey I just recieved my HDTV for my beedroom, but unfortunetly I am having trouble connecting it to HD, and would require assistance inorder to connect it trhough the HDMI leads!
This is my tv:
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/136347
My 360 is has an HDMI port as it is the newer version.
I understand that I should only attatch the red and white normal wires (and not the yellow) but I don't know where to plug the other 3 wires into my tv (red/green/blue). Heres a picture from ebuyer off the socket avalible behind my TV:

better and clear picture could be found on:
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/136347
do I need to buy a connector or something?
A thanx would be given to everyone who post!
as well as a personal thank you

The 'red/green/blue' indicates that it is an RGB type cable and unless you have those ports on the TV then it won't work. You can usually find these connections on the more expensive TV and DVDs.
You might want to give something like this a try:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Xbox-Gold-Hdtv-Cable-Optical/dp/B000NWQUPO/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1209845483&sr=8-8
(Connects to the VGA port of your TV...)"When you're right no one remembers. When you're wrong no one forgets." :rolleyes:0 -
the port on your tv pointed out is a not an hdmi connection, the hdmi is the second from left of the photo and that port would be the same on your xbox if it genuinely has hdmi
the type of cable u described is a component type cable which whilst using rca connectors is radically different from the tvs video/audioleft/audioright u pointed outclick here to achieve nothing!0 -
it doesnt look like your tv has the slots required for the component cable that comes with the console. it does have the slots for standard definition and the red, white and yellow plugs on the component cable will allow that. you need to get a hdmi cable if you want to get hd and that will plug in the second slot from the left.0

So all I need to do is to buy that wire and simply plug and play for HD xbox gaming?
Connects to the VGA port of your TV...
I have a HDMI port at the back of my TV?0 -
hey after looking at these:
http://www.play.com/Games/Xbox360/4-/719745/Official-Xbox-360-VGA-HD-AV-Cable/Product.html
http://www.play.com/Games/Xbox360/4-/3433033/Gamexpert-Xbox-360-VGA-AV-Cable/Product.html
They only support upto 720p (according to description) and my TV is 1080p. Does that man the 360 can not support 1080p?0 -

it does do 1080. now i think about it i am sure there is something somewhere in the consoles settings were you can change what degree of hd it gives. you might want to check that as it maybe set to standard definition.0 -

The description says..."Provide video output settings of 480p, 720p or 1080i."
It's not stated as 'p' though, which is the 'true' HD.
Nevertheless I bet you will get an awesome picture on it..."When you're right no one remembers. When you're wrong no one forgets." :rolleyes:0 -
really best checking the xbox again if it does have hdmi, you would simply need an hdmi cable no, and your tv does have a vga connector as well thats the blue one next to the hdmiclick here to achieve nothing!0

erm... Yeah but I thought using the VGA may have an effect of the picture quality (as I have a HDMI port?)0

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5347964.htm
