...wouldn't it be nice to have an Old Syle meet sometimes early next year?

Ah well that's the challenge - we need to find a fairly central point with a cheap hostel or something like that where we can all meet for a few quid cost and a lot of fun!

Well, we can start by saying where we all live (if you don't want to be too precise you can say just the area if not the town).

So we can see whether there is a reasonable mid-point, maybe we could meet for afternoon tea rather than do a sleepover, to save money - and 1 day return train tickets are cheaper too!

    I shall start:

I am in London so I can travel anywhere up to North Yorkshire (northways) or Bristol (Westways) in one day and back.

Though it was worth a mention that there always seem to be offers on day trips to London, from wherever you are in the country, and some people might like to combine it with a shopping trip.

    Norfolk, btw. :)

well i'm in blackpool, but can get most places in a day, cos i can change at preston for most places. ;D maybe meet up around lunchtime might be an idea? gives us the morning to travel (and its cheaper on trains after 9am, in true money saving style!!!)

Please could I come & play too?  I'm in Surrey, only just beyond Kingston Upon Thames so London is really easy for me or somewhere north of it to make it a bit more central or others?

If you're going to have a frugal meet, why not rent a cottage out of season (presumably you're talking about the New Year sometime anyway). People that love cooking could perhaps cook some of those lovely recipes and there'd be no shortage of cleaning up tips so the cottage would be spotless, and it would be loads cheaper than eg. B & B for an overnight stay.

There must be some pretty place in the Midlands to meet up?

P.S. Caterina - I'm in S.Wales - which is nearer than S.Yorkshire for you - did you forget about Wales?!!
