I did this too.The funny thing is it works fine for the first few loaves just adding as dry then all the loaves come out like house bricks.I went back to tesco own yeast for the breadmaker but I've still got the allinsons tin.I'll be watching this thread to see what I can do with it too.

  • I did the same when I used my breadmaker and I just put the yeast & sugar into the liquid for 5mins then added the rest of the ingredients and went on as usual.

Add it to some of the water from your recipe which has been warmed up. Put half of the sugar the recipe needs in with it and give it a good stir.

Depending on the warmth of the water (and your house) you should see a layer of frothy bubbles on top within 5 to 30 minutes.

Then make up your bread as usual, not forgetting to add the rest of the water and sugar.

Try using it in this recipe for rolls - very simple and tasty (with all due credit to Dronid & Squeaky from the original thread!)

Using the recipie with your machine, take a known quantity of water (say 200ml) add some sugar and the yeast. After 10 minutes add all the ingredients into a breadmaker on a rapid bake setting.
Lets get this straight. Say my house is worth £100K, it drops £20K and I complain but I should not complain when I actually pay £200K via a mortgage:rolleyes:
