Rome and Sorrento in September

Hi all

After finding a twin centre break in Rome and Sorrento. Just phoned up Portland direct who quoted me £1865!!for 2 adults for 4 nights in Rome, 10 nights in Sorrento. Was after 4nights Rome, 7 nights in Sorrento, but this was the only twin centre available. Other option is to just book all the hol for Sorrento and do a trip to Rome from there. Any ideas if this many go cheaper as the date gets nearer? Italy doesn't seem to have many bargains at the moment!!!

Seems a little expensive. I have an apartment that I use when I'm in Rome and some contacts on Capri.

Flights to Rome should only be around £120 return or less. The cost of the train to Sorrento escapes me but it is not expensive. (£30 return?)

Of course, it's the price of accommodation that bumps the price up.
Grab yourself a copy of the Lonely Planet to look for hotels within your budget.
If you'd like to use the Roman apartment, I'll have to check to see if it is free for your travel period.
