Getting a Quantum meter removed

My daughter has a Quantum Gas meter and wants to consider switching. She had it put in to repay a debt which has now been done. Is it possible to get it removed and who would she approach to get it swapped to a standard meter. She is looking at Click Energy 5 with BG as this seems the cheapest for her area. She is with BG for Gas and Eon for electricity. I think she is on standard tariffs.

Call BG and ask them to swap it.
She'll probably need to go through a credit check before they do it, but then they'll be able to book a job for the following week.

we had the bother when we moved into a new property that BG wanted money to switch the meter to a normal one

we found that switching to scottish power meant we could then change the meter for free

it was a few years back but its worth looking at different suppliers and what they charge to change

its daft as its not your supplier that does the work

mt daughter was in exactly the same position,only she inhereted the meter,from previous tennents,there was no debt on the meter,but BG wouldnt take out the meters,she has left it over 12 months to recontact them to have them taken out again,but they still said no,this is her first flat,and nor her or myself(wen she lived at home) owed any money to anyone.They did a credic check and they wanted £200 deposit:eek: I told her to get in touch with EDF and they have said if she switches,after 28 days they will take them out(im also with them),it will cost her less as well as she isnt paying a charge for the meters in the first place,they also did a credit check and found all to be ok,so BG has lost another customer due to their unwillingness to compromise with an excisting customer,over somthing that she didnt have put in in the first place(the prepayment meters).
