Oooh I don't think I'd ever recommend doing the conveyancing yourself, unless you're legally qualified and know what you are looking for on the title.

I certainly wouldn't do my own conveyencing either.

Right ok, against most of your advice I went for the agents solictor company:o
as they were the only one that was fixed price and no win-no fee.
Anyway they said that it would be a local company, which works in our favour as they have an office near me and one near my partner.
The good part is this... I had a quote from the same company earlier in the day and it was nearly £250 more than going through the estate agent.:D
  • I regularly refer clients to a Local Solicitors Practice and we don't receive anything from them in return except good service. I know how they work, they know how I work, we are speaking together around 20 + times a day on different cases, and they don't ignore our calls. They don't charge the clients per phone call and they don't charge the clients per letter. They just get on with the job for LESS than if the clients had walked in off the street due to the fact that they know the case is going to be easier and go through smoother because they know they are dealing with competent introducers.

We have negotiated cheaper rates for our clients and they get every penny of that benefit knocked off what would have been their bill if they had gone direct. This encourages them to go there and everybody has an easier life.

Either that or get another few quotes, but we've had horrendous experiences of people using their own solicitors who don't return calls, who lie about what's happened or not happened and who is delaying things (after nearly 19 years in the business you get a feeling and you know when you get to hear the same stalling fibs) and who gets the blame when a purchase is taking a long time, THE MORTGAGE BROKER!
I am a Mortgage Consultant and don't like to be told what I can and can't put in a signature so long as it's legal and truthful.
