Sarah - How did that happen?? I'm beginning to think gardens etc are jobs for the boys (less chance of women getting hurt if boy do the jobs) Is lawnmower terminal or does it just need tlc?

OMG - just read this and thought you meant calf (as in young cow) rather than just below knee:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

My lawnmower is one of these petrol jobbies that was left behind by previous owners. Have to say that it can cut knee high grass; it doesn't like it but it does it. Saying that unless we have another year like last year, we'll be cutting the grass each week/ fortnight. had to do hedge first, it was 7-8 foot high in places and it's supposed to be just under 5foot! No wonder i hurt my back wielding the trimmers at weird angles and using them to hack at stems!

    Afternoon everyone.

1st day in the new job went OK. Had 2 SAR meetings which took up most of the day anyway. Rest of the time I was just familiarising myself with the departments paperwork etc.

It doesnt look as though teaching will be a big part of my role anymore and they have really brought me in as a NVQ assessor.....it looks like that anyway which would mean alot of time out of the office and into peoples workplace assessing them ON THE JOB so to speak.

Will get mileage allowance as well 35p per mile but must remember to claim the rest via my tax return...All those 5p's add up.

Hope everyone else having First Days are OK.
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.
