0% BT Card with No Fee?

Hey people

Wasn't sure where to look in this forum so some guidance would be most appreciated.

Currently have a Tesco Platinum Card which I usually pay off in full each month (missus makes me keep this for Tesco Clubcard points).

My car insurance is due at the end of October so I am looking for a card where I can transfer the amount too (approx £500) from my Lloyds card without incurring a fee.

Had a quick look on Stoozing.com but not sure which the best ones are - maybe Egg Money? or Mint.

0% on Transfers and Purchases (just in case) would be preferable.

You are best off getting a card with a long 0% offer and which doesn't charge a fee. Mint does charge a fee for balance transfers in the first 3 months I think.

Currently your best options are the following (however do your own research before you commit as deals frequently change):

NatWest
RBS
Intelligent Finance

These cards all offer 9 months at 0% on purchases and balance transfers and don't charge a balance transfer fee. Egg money has only just come out so I haven't familiarised myself with the conditions on that one yet. Maybe someone else on here can confirm if it is preferable?

Yup ... Mint does have a 2% BT fee but it is capped at £40. The deal is a 9 month 0% deal and what is interesting about it is that the fee only applies in the first 3 months .... so, if you are patient, you can get free BTs ... and the cheques can be used to pay straight into your bank account.

Having just done this, I can confirm it is true!

In the middle of a stoozing frenzy, I applied to a Mint mailshot in which the application form said no balance transfer fee - admittedly the accompanying letter did mention a fee but I was hoping I could get the card and try and get them to waive the fee on account of the "guarantee" on the form.

They said the form was a misprint and wouldn't budge on the fee, but then I spotted that any balance transfers after 3 months would be fee free. I now have £4,100 of their money in my savings account :-) This will hopefully be even more soon cos they offered to review the poor credit limit if I sent them copies of my savings statements (which is over £30k of stoozed money). How wonderfully ironic!

Egg money does not offer an intro 0% deal.
The standard Egg green offers 0% BTs 'til 1 march 2006 but has a fee for BTs.
Egg green does have 0% on purchases 'til 1st march 2006 though.

How much do you need to transfer? You mention £500 and your car insurance too - how much is this?
