Hi, I applied for a BM e-saver last week. They want 2 forms of paper based ID. What determines whether they can verify you electronically or not?
If you're on the electoral roll, it's generally because you have a "Flat 3B" or "3rd floor flat" type address.
Could also be that you haven't lived there very long...or maybe there are gaps in your address history over the last 3/6 years?0 -
YorkshireBoy wrote: »Not necessarily. Once your BM e-Saver is activated (by your cheque deposit), you'll be able to BACS transfer your YBS funds straight in using...
Sort Code: 20-97-78
Account No: 00968773
Reference: xxxxxxxxx (your 10 digit account number)
Don't forget that YBS transfers out are 4/5 days, plus a weekend, plus 3-4 days from Halifax to BM.
Going straight from YBS to BM will therefore be quicker, and mean less interest lost whilst your money is in the BACS ether.
Hi YorkshireBoy,
On the customer services guide I was sent by BM the BACS details were given as follows:-
Sort Code 20-97-78
Account Number 10968870
Reference - xxxxxxxxxx
How come there are two different account numbers ?0 -

God - you're good :T thanks0 -
Can I BACS into my account before I send the initial cheque (I have my account ID) or will the account be inactive until they receive it?

If you both post your cheque and action your BACS (from YBS) on Monday, the cheque will beat the BACS...so long as it's processed as quickly as mine was (next day).
If in doubt though, best to ring them?0 -

I opened a Northern Rock account and a Kaupthing Edge account, and I was electronically ID'd for both; but I also have to send in two forms of ID for my application for the BM account and my details have not changed since I opened the Norhern Rock and Kaupthing Edge accounts0 -
Thanks. I sent my cheque last Sunday and received my access token and username during the week.
Activated my account yesterday and the cheque has been deposited but is not yet available. I have asked them to action a DD from my current account for £1 this week and also set up a BACS payment from the same to go out on Monday, just to make sure everything works.
I've got £3500 coming out of my Icesave account on Monday which I'll transfer across next week along with £6k-odd from my YBS RS.
This has taken a little while to set up, during which time they've changed the fixed rate account terms - luckily in my favour! Hope the account is still available when I'm ready to open it...
One last thing - is it just me or is the writing on their online banking bit minuscule?
