Agree with others ..... it's not that ugly and it could be made to look a whole lot better.

I dont think it is that ugly, with a lick of paint and a tidy up it could look very nice and that view is to die for, i would say go for it its got potential!!!

Location, Location, Location isn't called that for nothing!

Besides, you'll be sitting inside looking out at the view - who cares what the outside looks like before you add a coat of paint and some nicer curtains?

There are two of the houses, they are at the top of Morton Lane where it meets Carr Lane, BobProperty. Absolutely no flooding risk, as you point out! This is the 'inside' one, and the outside one has a garage at the back, which must block access to the back of this one. So that might be an issue if planning permission was refused (maybe they wanted to put it on the front ... could check that out further).

Perhaps I should take the next step and go to see it on the inside (had a wee look at outside yesterday, on the course of a long but quite pleasant walk). I usually manage to strike out any possibility at this point. Houses in East Morton proper, as opposed to the modern estates, are tightly held, and a lot of them are either very small or very big (ie, too expensive). But it is smaller than our current place (renting being cheaper, as we all know) and with no garage, where would I put the clutter?

I wouldn't dream of changing the bay window or adding a front conservatory - the shape may be a bit angular for my tasting, but it's the right shape for the house and with a 'terrace' of two, it shouldn't be allowed to be too different anyway. Do decks need planning permission? That would be less obstrusive and maybe some storage could be incorporated under it. I don't know whether the loft is usable.

As others have said a lick of paint and some plants. A new front door wouldn't hurt either. The location is stunning.
I think it p!sses God off if you walk by the color purple in a field somewhere and don't notice it. People think pleasing God is all God cares about. But any fool living in the world can see it always trying to please us back.

I wouldn't change the bay window or turn them into picture windows.

I would change the window frames to wood or if they are already wood (I can't quite see), paint them darker, they would blend in better.
