PayPal Payment Help Please!

Hi! All, I sold an item at the weekend and in my Ebay account it is showing as being processed via paypal and that I need to send it however when I log onto my paypal account it is not showing. When I use the link under action - "view paypal transaction" it takes me to paypal to sign up for an account! Any ideas as to what has happened with this payment? Thanks in anticipation...

    Hi
That sounds a bit odd if you already have a PP account.

When it says on ebay "being processed by PayPal" what does that mean? I have never had that - i get either a "Paid" id icon or the "egg timer" icon meaning payment being processed, which can mean the buyer has marked the item payment sent, but can be a cheque or e-cheque pending or whatever.

I would suggest e-mailing your buyer and asking how they have arranged payment - that would also let them know you haven't yet received payment and hopefully stop them moaning at you for not sending item!

    HTH!

Whatever you do don't send the item until the payment appears in your paypal account.

Perhaps the eBay listing was set up with the wrong Paypal email address. If you mistyped the email address when listing the item then the payment could have been sent to an incorrect email address but of course shows as paid in your eBay. Just check the details on the listing for your item.

I had a look at the original listing and it appears that for some reason I didn't tick the pay by paypal box. Any ideas how I sort this one out or is it down to the buyer to do so their end? Thanks for all your help it is much appreciated!

If your listing did not actually say that you accept paypal then you don't need to accept it, just make sure before you talk to the buyer that there is nothing at all ticked or written that might indicate that paypal is accepted.

If paypal was not shown as acceptable then explain that to the buyer and say they will have to wait until the payment goes back to them in 30 days as wherever they decided to send it, the account doesn't belong to you.
