tub chairs/sofa's

Has anyone got these in their living room. The wife has seen some in Next and is nagging me to get them as our suite is nearly 10 years old, and is in need of replacement.

Personally I would like to make (or rather get my mum to do as she can perform miracles with a sewing machine and a bit of thread) some slips for the old suite. I have seen some brown suedette that is suitable for upholstery at only £5 a meter from Ebay.

So, what do people think of the tub chairs. Are they comfortable to sit on. Are they sturdy enough keeping in mind we have 2 young children (4 and 6).

Any thoughts appreciated.

Tub chairs are comfy for sitting on but not for lounging in front of the TV. If you like to slouch and put your feet up then they aren't the type of chair/sofa for you. How about actually going into Next or Ikea or somewhere that sells them and try them out?

No idea about how hardwearing they are, I suppose it depends what type of covers you choose

    hi

bought sofa and chair (tub's) from argos in blue fabric. Useless. Hated them - not comfy at all. Kids had covered them in marks in one week (just general ooze not food or drink).

Don't waste your money. Have you looked on ebay to see if anyone is selling a decent sofa near you. with small kids you can't beat leather. I have seen some real bargains on ebay - people moving etc.
