First off, I wasn't the customer. I'm a happy PS3 owner. However, in gamestation today, there was someone wanting to buy a 360 Elite. They asked the people behind the counter who explained that:
1 - They had some in stock
2 - They were only available in a GTA IV bundle
3 - They had no GTA IV in stock
4 - As a result of 2 & 3, they weren't able to sell them a 360.
Sounds a bit nuts to me and I did eventually see them in Game down the road (same company I know) and did appear to leave the shop with an Elite and GTA IV.
Just seems a tad nuts to me that the people in the shop don't have the flexibility to think outside the bundle.
Same thing happened to me in Asda when I went to buy a DS bundle at xmas but the sales assistant there let me pick any other game up to the value of the one that was missing. Why can't they all be sensible like that.

i feel your pain.
Did you say something as a consumer, consuming a consumable item like that would not be beneficial to your fellow consumer if he/she didnt want to consume GTA IV.
Is this what they call consumer electronic democracy? I doubt it...this is a typical tyranical behaviour from a giant within the UK games industry.
On the starship enterprise I recall Picard saying something really intelligent about the tyrants we have elected to provide us with our cosumables.

this is how the shop makes its profit on the consoles by forcing games sales at the same time
