Set yourself up a spreadsheet and enter your annual usage figures for gas and electric, next put it the price you currently pay and calculate your annual cost. (Usage x Unit price).
Then do the same thing again but put the prices in off the comparison site.
Then do it again using the prices off the providers site.
You will then have 3 different annual costs, see which is the cheapest and sign up.
From my experience the providers site always tells you they can save you more but when you calculate it using their figures its never the case.Cashback earned

thanks for the reply fossman
i have never done this before so i took your advice and compared on a spreadsheet and found that the new tarrifs were higher than i am actually paying now but with the discount the over all bills would be cheaper.
am i best changing and hope they keep the discount or finding one that is a cheaper tarriff
any help and advice would be great0 -
Its upto you, can you afford to pay the higher price and wait for the discount to kick in?
What if prices fall further and you end up switching to an even cheaper supplier before you get the discount!
With regard to your first post, I had a look at different comparisons and it appears that when you do a comparison on a suppliers own website they compare against your current suppliers highest tariff not the exact tariff your on. Thats why they say they can save you more money.Cashback earned
