Help... computer shuts down + other probs?

You could try removing things from the start up which aren't needed eg quicktime, real player. start>run>msconfig>statup. I doubt it will make much of a difference. You could try hijack this, then upload the log if you think this spyware or a virus.I did the spyware / malware removal as per the instructions on here.
Will try the defrag but to be honest i have done it before and it didnt help much.
as for removing programmes.. some of them .. i have no idea what they are and do not want to !!!!!! things up so am a bit wary there.
