Really Boring Double Glazing Query ...

One of my windows has gone wonky.

I closed one of the living room windows last night and as I did so the handle suddenly went slack ... the window closed OK but now the handle doesn't open it. Something's gone wrong in the handle mechanism I think, something's come loose or snapped and the window won't open (how techy is this ?? haha). Thank heavens they're jammed shut rather than jammed open.

Weatherseal put them in just over 10 years ago (1997, it was the Monday after Princess Diana's funeral) ... any ideas what's gone wrong & how easy/expensive it might be to fix ? I'm sure it was a 10 year guarantee too (no luck to me, huh ?)

Any double glazing specialists about ?

If you're lucky then the spindle is worn and a new handle will fix it. Take the handle off (two screws, top and bottom) and see of you can operate the mechanism with a big screwdriver. If the the locking mechanism won't work then it is hard to give advice without seeing it, but I have a hunch you are in for a long hot summer.
