Pastime Keycards

Where I live there is a scheme that allows low income families to have a keycard which gives a big discount on leisure activities, for example 50% off swimming, I was entitled to it last year as I got WTC but this year I only get CTC as I am a student nurse and OH is on incapacity following an accident at work.
However I thought if you do't ask you don't get so I sent a letter to the local council and explained that while I did not fit their criteria, I was a low income household and felt that I was being discriminated against by them denying me a keycard, they have now agreed to give us a keycard this year.
Moral of the story if you don't ask you don't get.........:T
