DWP random phone call

Just about an hour ago today (Sunday 4th May), I received a phone call. I didn't answer, but checked the answerphone and re-dialled the number to see who it was. The lady answered and said it was the DWP (or something simialar).
She started asking questions about a claim for IB that I had 'sent in'. Except I have made no claim. I asked her if she knew my name, and she said she didn't. She said 'excuse me, I'm the one asking the questions'! At this point, I thoight it was a con and told her not to ring back. She said she would ring back if I've made a claim.
Is it a con, or has someone made a malicious claim in my name or made an allegation about me? I honestly have done nothing wrong. The only thing I get is a bit of Pension Credit.
Thanks.

I'm a bit confused - your other post says that you are 26 and receive IS (presumably for reason of Incapacity)? You would not be receiving Pension Credit at your age?Gone ... or have I?0

Sorry!
I cut and pasted my post from another forum! I was writing it from the perspective of my mum, who took the call.
My mum is 61.
Sorry for any confusion!0 -
In that case, it sounds like they wanted to talk to you about your claim for IS (assuming you live in the same house). I am not saying this is definitely the case, the dept that arrange medicals (part of Capita?) are known to contact people on Sundays.Gone ... or have I?0

Medical Services on behalf of the DWP are run by a company called Atos Origin (I dont think they are anything to do with Capita) and yes they do contact people to arrange medicals for IB/IS at weekends. If this is not the reason for the call I think it was a crank call.0 -

You're right, it is Atos - knew it was one of the big consultancy do everything types, just couldn't think who - blame jetlag! xGone ... or have I?0 -

I hope you enjoyed your trip. It is nice to see my imaginary friend (according to one little poster who swings by from time to time) back, though I thought you were a real person rather than a figment of my imagination!0 -
