Remove Anti-Tamper Alarm switch
bonsoirbonsoir
We're having new french windows and the current patio doors have an anti-tamper switch on.
Obviously removing it will trigger the alarm - no problem there, as I can key in the code once it triggers.
I want to permanently remove it though, there are four wires going in, do I have to connect two together and keep the other two apart?
It seems like a simple job, but I don't want to pay god knows how much to get an electrician to do it - so any advice would be useful.
Thanks
David

:rotfl: Sorry, this brings back memories for me when I removed a panic button once! I spent a good while on the phone to my electrician in a panic (no pun intended) while he talked me through joining wires etc as it wouldn't stop going off once I cut the wires. I am sure someone technical will explain it to you because I can't remember but I did have fun doing it over the phone

Good luck0 -
Is it a simple magnetic contact detects when the window is open or is
it a vibration detector this will have a red or green led on it with
this information I can help you or go to the below site

Hi Dave,
Think I might have done it - the switch is a vibration detector.
I connected the two wires that lead to the vibration detector, and then connected the two wires that sit in either side of the vibration detector base plate. This appears to have done the job - the alarm control panel does not detect any errors when I try to set the alarm.
Does this sound right to you?
