Authorizing someone to talk to solicitors on your behalf

Hi everyone,
I have a quick question about the legal aspect house selling. It's not quite moneysaving but I know many on here are very clued up about this sort of thing so hopefully some kind soul can help...
My girlfriend and I are selling our house, except that it's not OUR house, it is in her and her mother's name, although her mother does not live here, only the gf and I do.. She wants me to deal with the solicitors and do all the form filling etc etc since she's not very organised or good at the paperwork side of things and I'm happy to do it, but do I need to get some sort of official document signed to authorise me to do this? Or can I just get their signatures on a piece of paper saying something to this effect?
I would phone the solicitors up to ask but they're not open until Tuesday and I wanted to get all this stuff done today whilst I have the free time if possible...
TIA! R.

Hi
If your girlfriend tells the solicitor what you intend to do, the solicitor will send out a form for your girlfriend and mother to sign so that you can deal with it.0 -
Thanks. I thought as much, just hoped there'd be an easier way.0
