Tips for Student to save money - Or spend less

So I wouldn't spend so much on keeping a car, I currently use my dad's car at the weekends and walk to college during the week. My dad uses the car during the week and then shares my mum's car at the weekends. It saves a lot of money as only one tax disc between the two of us, one MOT, one lot of insurance and I pay for the petrol I use. Plus as I'm only a named driver, the insurance was about £450 cheaper than having my own policy.
Insureance of my step dads car would be more than mine is at the moment fully comp (I paid just under £1k, fully comp), as his engine size is bigger than mine (although was more when we looked at it last time). I dont really want to go 3rd party, I've only been driving a year.
And I'm not aware of it needing to be done, but it keeps my mind happy, I've already had my breaks go, and something in the engine (Head gaskit?), there is talk of my dad swapping my car for my sisters as its newer (when she sells hers, plus my dad paid for my car/insureance/mot/service when I got it, so he may help me with it again).
I've also put my name down for more overtime on Sunday (<3 Sunday rates xD).0 -

I'm sorry Celox, but while I'm sure you're good with money, as an 18 year old who clearly stated that you can't stop spending (not a criticism btw, I'm the same!) I would steer clear of the matched betting unless you know you will be VERY strong-willed.Money Saved for a house deposit so far = July 2008 £3331.09, August £4396.40, September £5,048.37 (Target = £9,000 by July 2009) 56% there already!:j
If I have helped you in any way, please thank me!0 -
