Hello, help me.
I have booked a weeks hol to salou, 29th May-5th June at the HTOP Molinos Park, All inclusive.
Now I have read many reviews about this hotel with varying degrees of praise and criticism. I believe that many people only write reviews when they are unhappy and not when they have had a fab time!! Anyway, its booked and we are going so I'll make up my own mind- BUT can anyone shed any light on the surrounding area, how easy it is to get to beach, bus services, entertainment (either in hotel or surrounding area) and generally anything else you know about cap salou and said hotel.
We went to salou for our honeymoon so know its a fab place, but we are now going back with our 4yr old ds!!

I went to the hotel early April, the hotel is ok the location is ok, however the problem is that it offers a very good deal for all inclusive and attracts the worst clientele.
The first night we arrived was ok then all the crap of the day arrived, so I think it is just your luck.
Most people on the all ionclusive grudge leaving the hotel for a single second.
However the local bus offers a frequent service to Cambrils, Salou, La pineda fand Tarrigana for just 2.35 euros each way. You can also travel to Barcelona for under 20 euros return.
So yes the Costa Dorada is a good location, the hotel is just your luck10 -
we stayed here and all i can say is dont eat the food,my three year old ended up critical in hospital with salmonella!!
as for location its a 5min walk to a lovely beach downhill, the walk back is quite steep takes bit of effort for little legs0 -
I booked my sister there with her children they are not so fussy and they ended up eating in another hotel. The marinada is a good one similar price but not AI . You are pretty near port aventura you can get a weeks ticket or BOGOf from barcelona point online. 4 year olds might be free depending on height?0

Hi
This is the only hotel I have had a really bad holiday in, food is awful unless you like cold chips, we lived on them! Small beach is only 5mins away but is a hike back up the hill.
Fights every night in the bar and outside, the police were regulars it is not safe for kids as there are kids everywhere and no parents in site as they are all getting sozzled in bar, no separate area for adults in the evening apart from 2 ripped sofas in the reception area, rooms dirty, shower curtain fell on head and cut it open and hotel didn't want to know. Wrote to head office 4 times and they wrote once to say too late I had used the hotel despite asking them to move us as soon as we arrived!!
Bus service very regular and Salou main beach is lovely.
Would recommend you trying Hotel Donaire Park right on the beach and a short walk to lovely shopping promenade and water park.
Huge market (forget the day) reception will have details you can get bus and grab some great bargains....
Sorry to put you off hotel but please don't do it...............0 -
I have changed to cala font hotel. And got a refund!!! Sometimes it is better to go with a travel agent (although they did book it for me thro a diy site!)
Feel soooo much happier now!!!:beer::silenced:0
