Did you know if you were to drink Clinique's toner you could get !!!!ed:eek: Has something to do with the alcohol content.

I like clarins, especially their facial oil. I also use Virgins Vie. I tend to agree that toners are a waste of money but you do have to ensure that your pores are closed before applying moisturiser.

Declour is also lovely. I would suggest going along for a facial at a department store with a company like clarins and see what you think of the products as they are being used on you

I have oily and congested skin and it taken me about 12 years to find the right products. I use the following:-

Australian Body Care Skin wash as cleanser - you can buy 1litre sizes at QVC with other bits and it last forever - good price for what you get.
Left over Green Tea as toner - tip on a recent thread on this site and it works!
Australian Organics Oil free moisturiser - £8.50 John Lewis
Anew Retexurising Pads - Buy from Avon cost £15 but have never brought for for full price as there are special offers. I tend to use the pad twiceover as it quite potent but unblock pores and reduce blemishes. Last about 4 months
Decleor Ylang Ylang Night Balm - Don't buy this at the dept store, go to www.feelunique.com. It is a Jersey based company and you get it half price!!!

I spend ages looking around. QVC I find is good because they demonstrate the stuff and they do have good values but take their ideas and shop around because you might get the products in other places that are cheaper.

Avon is old fashion but fantastic products. Look at their ANEW products.

to all the above clinique fans - i will admit and join you too.

i too for the past 15 odd years tried many different products - using each regime for at least 3 months whether facial wash, cleanser creams etc.
i got intro,. to clinique from mums friend - who used it to get her skin cleared up - and this was about 5 years ago. i 'got sucked' :rolleyes:in through the bonus time gifts - but i did notice that it worked for my skin. my skin settled as i used it for about 2 years. but because of costs - experimented again with other new cheaper brands. bad skin again for 2 years:eek:. SO early this year thought i would try the 'premium ' ranges. so far ive tried estee lauder, lancome and clarins. no good. - i had to convince my self that as clinique gets bad press sometimes - maybe there is a better alternative. I was very unhappy and now i need to pick up my wellbeing. i've decided to go back to clinique and look forward to bonus time again....:j

Ihave been using Liz Earle for around 5 years now,ad I am regularly told I look 10 years younger than my 48 years. I have also used clinique when younger (when I was earning decent money),but enjoy using Liz Earle so much more and feel it is more cost effective. My 17 year old daughter regularly pinches my LE moisturiser and she also loves the body moisturiser and gentle face exfoliator. She changed to Clinique a couple of years ago but didn't find it so good.
Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it!

I think the best thing is trial and error really- give things a month to see how your skin is doing. It may be that you need a variety of different brands to get the best effect.

For example - I use the Cliniques liquid facial wash, followed by Boots super cheap cucmber toner. Then I use Boots P & P serum with the P & P for eyes. Then on top of that I mix up a blend of Nuxe Soleil Prodigeaux Mutli face protection - moisturiser/sunscreen/self tan, with some Nuxe Tinted Moisture Gel.

Then I don't need any base as my skin is all lovely and glowy - I just matt it down with some mineral perfection powder and do my eyes.

One thing though - being 23- please do use products with a sunscreen in as you don't want to get skin damage from a young age, I'm 43 and my skin is still wrinkle free and I put it down to sun protection from a young age !

  • My beautician told me to stay away from Clinique, which is what I used to use. I now use Dermalgica and my skin is sooo much better!
