BA fuel surcharges to rise again
British Airways said fuel costs were a real burden
British Airways is to increase fuel surcharges on long-haul tickets bought in the UK for the fifth time in the past 18 months. The increase, taking effect from 12 September, means customers will pay a £30 charge for a one-way ticket - up from £24 - and £60 on a return fare.
OUCH!!!!:( Having just heard this, Immediately paid in full the cost of my flight to the USA, For my family the surcharge would have added an extra £360 to my holiday.
Once you have paid in full, then you have a contract for that fare price and NO surcharge can be added.
Great way of saving, I thought considering I was getting a pittance in interest waiting to pay the balance.
Also on car hire, get the full package with fuel included. I saved a bundle on that too. £10 extra and a free $50 tank of gas

So the increase is £12 pp return.
How many are there in your family0 -
Not necessarily. See I bought my tickets on deposit in February. NO fuel surcharge. The airline could add the full surcharge to my flights before I paid in full. So I guess the £360 was overly stated. But still any deposit booked flights are liable for any surcharge the airline thinks fit.... but not if paid in full.
Allright, I saved £72 then...but still a smack in the eye. I have to multiply x6NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0
