Did anyone get the First Direct  Break offer?

Options
:( I applied for the first direct credit card, awaiting the weekend break offer, it took ages to arrive ( over 2months) then could not get any flights to any usa destinations as offered , i was told they had all gone! I was however offered a break in feb in Barcelona flying with easyjet that would cost me an extra £200 !!!!! ???

are all these offers a rip off ????

to add insult to injury I did get in with the £25 offer but have made so may phonecalls now to chase up the money ( which they have confirmed I should have) im wondering if it was worth it

I don't see how they can charge you £200 extra. They might restrict your choice of destinations and travel dates but they can't go charging you for something that is meant to be free.

I am using the First Direct offer to go to Barcelona at the end of the month. If I remember right I had to pay a small sum (about £20) in airport taxes but that is all. Very good value for free flights and accomodation.

The scheme is operated by Rise Travel. They also run the offers for lots of other companies such as Little Chef. It does not surprise me if they are running out of flights as they did seem to be getting over promoted.

I think you will have to accept whatever flights and dates they offer you but you do not have to accept extra costs. I'd contact First Direct to complain if you can't get anywhere with Rise Travel.

By the way although Rise Travel are keen to add an extra person for £150+ I added one myself for £100. That's was the cost of buying an extra flight ticket and the extra to upgrade the room to a double (negotiated direct with the hotel).
