Nicola I am in Bradford and have booked a lovely function room at a posh conservative club, very cheap and I'm dressing the room myself with chair covers and sashes, balloon decorations and table decorations that I am making myself (there is a silk flower wholesaler on the edge of Bradford city centre). If you want more info I will give you it. The room is costing me £95. all in for full day and access evening before. Its a beautiful old building with gardens and bowling greens around it.
hi i know you posted this ages ago but where did you go please??0 -

Can any one recommend anywhere near Pontefract. I would like to do my own catering, but like most, want a beautiful venue. The reception determines our ceromony choice, so cant set a date till we pick a venue! So I'm in a bit of a pickle!
Any ideas welcome.0 -
One is a hotel (whitcliffe hotel in cleckheaton, between bradford & huddersfield)but I've been told is really cheap compared to most hotels in the area doing weddings. They had a hot buffet, with (from what i remember being drunk!) normal sausage rolls, quiche etc with chilli & lasagne too. We stayed over for £50 a room so was nice that just had to stumble upstairs. Was really nice & apparently was renovated last year too

Good luck
Whitcliffe has a VERY reasonable wedding package, and the couple who run it are extremely likeable, and will work with you to get a package you can afford. We decided not to hold it there because of distance, but were very interested. Also, it is a little rough looking in the direct run up to the hotel (dilapidated building, with smashed windows - but it is due to be developed, will be much better when it is!)
We looked at Briar Court, Hudds - good package, but completely inflexible, their package is what it is; The old golf house, didn't like the feel of the place; The hotel at the top of the ainleys, far too expensive; Pennine Manor, Hudds - already had a wedding on, not exclusive - and dozens of others!! Please ask if you want any advice on how i found local places, but best advice is to go yourself, look around, talk to people and get a feel for a place.
We actually had our wedding breakfast and evening reception on 11-11-11 at the Holiday Inn, Brighouse - couldn't recommend them highly enough! Their package was excellent, and they worked with us to change it and trim it to fit our budget and requirements.
On the day, the food was perfect, service was impeccable, but discreet, hotel staff were friendly and helpful to all our guests - i wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anybody. The newest Mrs Lindley...... I married my Welsh Soulmate on 11-11-11 xxx0
