Reserve fees

If I have a NPB on ebay, do I get a refund of the reserve fees if I claim the fees back or is it only the FVF gets paid and not reserve?

If you go through the NPB process you will only get the FVfs back, none of the listing fees or reserve fees. You will however get a relist credit, but again that only covers basic listing fees and no upgrades. To make use of the relist credit the item actually must sell on the second attempt.
It is also worth noting that even if an item sells the reserve fee is no longer refunded by ebay, so do consider using a reserve only if absolutely necessary.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. So if I relisted and it sold, I am still £10 out of pocket as the reserve fee is never refunded even if I relist the EXACT same way as I did in the auction?0

Correct. The reserve fee used to be refunded if the item did not sell, but it was quietly changed by eBay towards the end of last year.
It's cheaper to list it with the start price being the minimum you will accept for it.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
Sorry I meant - so basically if I relisted the auction with a reserve again, I will need to pay an EXTRA £10 even if the 1st auction I listed actually got bought by a NPB ? So I will be £10 out of pocket anyway? And essentially, I am paying for someone else's mistake?
Also, is there any way I could 'take the person to court' ? I mean some sort of country court system to demand a payment? Because the laptop I sold was £500 and he has been wasting my time a bit by saying he was going to pay but never did... even had the cheek to tell me he is going to pay on the phone!0 -
Can anyone help please?0

Can anyone tell me if there is a cheap way to take this guy to court for a demand of payment? I just spoke to him on the phone and he was playing dumb and even had the cheek to ask me if i want to buy HIS laptop...0

You can take him to court as he is bound by an agreement to pay. Its not that it is faulty or broken.....he just hasnt paid!
Whether or not it is worth your while to start proceedings is only for you to decide.
It might cost about 30 to 50 pounds to start proceedings.
It might take over 6 months to be heard.
You cannot sell the laptop in that time.
He might not pay even after having a ccj and you would be further out of pocket.
However, you may want to go done this route for the principle......and I guess the more people who do that, the less likely it is that people would mess folk around.
I personally dont think its worth it. Sometimes when you sell on ebay, you need to accept the rough with the smooth.0 -
Yeah I suppose common sense now tells me it is not worth it! Shame really that I can't afford it for now... if this happened 3 or 4 years down the line, I would prob. hopefully be able to take people to court even if it would cost me £1k and purely for principle! But I prob. wouldn't be selling anymore laptops by then! I think I'm going to give up ebay after I sold all my laptops... fees too high and so many fraudsters + NPB... Anyhow, I appreciate your reply:money:0
