Getting a new computer tuesday after 5 years lol how do you recomend setting it up i.e my printer and hub just plug it all in and switch it on or setup the new computer on its own 1st then add my bits?

Start with the foundation - the computer. Make sure that it is working as it should. Everything else will fall into place

Vista (assuming that's what'll be used) seems to support far more natively than any other OS (but that's probably because MS are taking up some of the slack for the manufacturers being too lazy)."She is quite the oddball.
