I have a slow cooker and often pop them in with a casserole with beef or whatever to sweeten things up. I've got a recipe somewhere that uses about three tins in one go!!!! Haven't been brave enough to try that yet...

Pruines are great on porridge for breakfast - just add prunes and the juice from the tin and you don't need milk or sugar, and its delicious.

I always use ones in juice though - not syrup, so if yours are in syrup I'm not sure what that would be like.

  • I'd have a look to see if they have an expiry date as they're good for keeping you regular usually. But if the sell by date is well past, they may have the opposite effect. lol.
My mum & dad put them on their cornflakes with banana. Lidl have big cans of prunes for 99p. if anyone wants to know.

Suppose you could make prune jam if you don't fancy the cereal option.

:jEat them. But not all at one sitting.
After the uprising of the 17th June The Secretary of the Writers Union
Had leaflets distributed in the Stalinallee Stating that the people
Had forfeited the confidence of the government And could win it back only
By redoubled efforts. Would it not be easier In that case for the government
    To dissolve the people
    And elect another?

The date is fine, i think they've only sat in my cuboard for so long because i'm the only person in the house that likes them as they come, and as you say i cant eat a whole can lol.

I like them with custard poured over them as we had when I was a little girl at school. They are very nice as a chamge from sliced peaches.Or in the morning first thing they are a nice change from Bran flakes ,have a similar effect
