Info on this states that you can only save between £25-100 per month or £200 if it is a joint account0

This is a monthly saver. I assume the current regular saver will remain.
From moneyfacts:
7% Fixed. 1 year term. 12 consecutive payments. no withdrawals.0 -
Isn't the regular saver a better bet though - it has a variable rate of 5% and a bonus of 3%? Or have I got it wrong? It's always the grass that suffers, irrespective of whether the elephants are fighting or making love !!!0

No, I think the 5% includes the bonus.

In the PR language of Banks and Building Societies a "Bonus" is a bad thing.
It could more correctly be called a "Penalty"
e.g.
If you keep strictly to the conditions of a Regular Savers account which pays 5% including a bonus of 3% then you will get 5% interest.
If you break the terms of the account you will get 2%.
Now suppose the account paid 5% including a bonus of 4%.
If you keep to the terms you will get 5%
If you break the terms you will get 1%.
So the bigger the included bonus the more you may suffer................................I have put my clock back....... Kcolc ym0
