18866 packed up?

Hi my 18866 exchange packed up yesterday, has anyone else experienced this problem or similar. Am not sure if it maybe a prob with my Orchid dailer. Am with NTL but obviously the out calls get redirected. I have reconnected direct into my NTL and can now make outside calls again. Its been over 24hrs now since 18866 has worked. Thoughts everyone please

post number 333 and onwards....
It's a problem with 1899 and telewest/ntl cable access...only happened over the last 48hrs or so. Actually it still works...but connection takes 30-40 secs to dial through. To overcome this you need to add a # (ie a hash) onto the number you dial. Seems to fix the problem. Although most posts refer to 1899 - I found by experimenting that it also affected 18866..

Mine's working fine Mechy - used it a few times today and again a few minutes ago. The lovely women said "zero p per minute", I do like that sound...

Like me ..you are not on cable?
OP is...and has the problem with cable routing. [I know because if on cable..18866 costs 0.5p/min and not 0.0p/min!]0 -
I am cable actually thru NTL. Have had a few probs like this before but not for so long thanks fbrij you have given me hope, that is I hope they b.....dy fix it soon, am paying top wack thru NTL its breaking my heart :mad:0

I can't change my payment details from debit card to direct debit it won't accept my details, it keeps saying that the acc no and the sort code don't match, I have emailed 18866, bt no reply yet.0
